This piece was the product of a special request. I had someone on Instagram contact me with pictures of public art. They wanted a mix of the street art, with my art. "Maybe add Mickey Mouse or something, I love your Mickey art". It seemed a bit oxymoronic to me. Anyone familiar with Banksy's public street art, the art had political messages, satire, it depicted the flaws of our society... and then I had to add Mickey Mouse into the twist. Mickey Mouse lives in Disney World. He lives in a bubble, a utopia if you will. It's the happiest place on earth, he doesn't know what really goes on in the world. He doesn't know about crime, social injustice, or the unhealthy obsession people have with social media (maybe a little, since they only go to Disney for the photo op). But that's where I bridged that gap, in the title; "Mickey leaves Disney".
All art is carefully crafted by the artist, Camila Londono. With mixed media including but not limited to: magazines, vintage comic books, acrylic paints, spray paints, hand made stencils, glitter, resin, and digital assets, she creates her original works of art. Using magic and sorcery she then turns her original artworks into replicas also known as "ART PRINTS". By doing so, she is able to significantly bring the price down to make art more accessible to all!
